Women on Fire

WOMEN ON FIRE WAS JUST AWARDED BEST IN SHOW AT MARYLAND FEDERATION OF ART’S FALL MEMBERSHIP SHOW!

This particular piece, Women on Fire is a female dragon breathing fire. She is made of hundreds of tiny little pieces of paper glued on a 24 x 30 canvas. She tells the stories of courageous, strong women throughout history who, against adversity and defying the odds, breathed fire into the world and changed our lives. From afar, Women on Fire looks like a dragon, but as you look closer, you will see the images of 49 brave, kick-ass women peering back at you.

The women within Women on Fire are some of the women who motivated me to be a better woman. It is my dream that Women on Fire will encourage other women to follow-suit, give thanks to the women they know who are fire-breathers, and encourage us all to ignite our own fires.  A
